If you need to allow more than 500 contact list on your facebook you will need a different page. I found
this site to be very informative and well explained out of videos and other sites I read thru earlier. Here's the badge I was able to create using the tutorial:

The fan page took a good bit of research since facebook changed the definitions of how to promote the fan page that completing the tutorials listed in the top search engine results unabled me to find links that should be on facebook. I found widgets and steps that were suppose to give me the option of allowing members to add my page but one site asked for a url to complete the code, and the other attempt was a widget. The name of the widget may have been "like box" although it gave me a "searching..." for the name i typed in to find my fan page and did not go beyond that for a good few minutes. Besides, I was not a frequent facebook and beyond apps and fan page user.
The link that i provided requires a regular facebook account, and then signing up for a facebook page which may also have been called fan page, although I'm still calling it my fan page to distinguish the difference.
